Infographic: Use of Global Water Resources

With the drought we are facing, I have been thinking about water, especially which plants to grow this year. Then today, I saw the following cool infographic on Sustainablog. Since I have had difficulty re-posting their material (it either doesn’t work at all or screws up my blog formatting), I went to the source, Seametrics.

Infographic by Seametrics, a manufacturer of water flow meters that measure and conserve water.

This water usage stuff is very interesting. I had no idea it takes so much water to make my Hershey bar or steak! Or that so many children were dying from water-born illnesses. It might make you think about storing water and obtaining a way of purifying water, should the power go out, a raccoon get into your local pumping station, or we have a collapse and lose water service for ever extended periods of time.
